looking back, this trip has really been a wild ride. i've gotten to know more about the people here by hanging out with them at dinner, lunch, drinks, bowling, barbecue's and small get-togethers. people here have been asking me if i would take a one-way transfer to the US and i finally managed to come up with a consistent answer "i'm going to consider it." seems like a really easy decision to make except that if i move here, i move here alone. it means leaving a lot of the people that means a lot to me back in the philippines. i don't think i can do that. and i do love the philippines, graft & corruption & all. but we'll see, i've never been much of a long-term planner ... i take it as it is given the cards at the table. i guess one thing i learned is that life is too short to be planning so far ahead in the future - so i adopted this "live for the moment" mindset nowadays.
the work environment here in the US is kinda laid back, like i can go to the office around 9am and no one will care, or i can even choose to work from home if i don't have meetings at the office. it doesn't mean though that i'm not doing a lot of things cause i do continue my work at the hotel right after dinner. the food though at the cafe do not vary a lot and after a while, you just can't take another bite. so eat out a lot at resto's which serve a big plate = get fat. i haven't weighed myself yet but i'm pretty sure i got fat already.
i'm just waiting for the fourth of july sale. it will definitely be big and i plan on roaming all of the malls during those four days - no sense in wasting a good sale, and my credit card hasn't maxed out yet so its too early to think about how to pay for it.
